Special Weather Statement April 26, 2011

From the Tropical Storm Research Center Headquarters, Gulf Shores, Alabama -

[We do not normally monitor inland storms, however, this developing weather event is very serious.]


5:15 AM -Tuesday, April 26, 2011 - Mid South to Mid-Atlantic Region:

A strong frontal area is currently moving across the mid-south and has the potential to produce extremely severe weather conditions across the area from northeast Texas and eastern Oklahoma through Arkansas, northern Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, southern Illinois, southern Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, and western to central Maryland over the next three days. We are encouraging all persons in these areas to monitor local NOAA-NWS and media weather broadcasts frequently and be prepared to move to a place of safety - especially if your local tornado warning sirens are sounded.
